THE TUNNELS

This project started with an environment art mentorship via Limit Break in 2021. The aim of this project was to create more environment art and learn Unreal Engine better - to learn how to create VFX, atmospheric lighting and subtle animation in a game engine. I've sculpted cave wall modular pieces, made the material and VFX in one shader, set dressed, lighting and some post processing.

The Tunnels are my visual interpretation of an environment from a book. The world in which the book is set has a place called the Tunnels that acts as a battery for that world. It's a place that when you get in, you can't get out.
I've tried to visualise this as a dark space with dark energy that pulsates through the walls as if it is the place itself is alive.
